Harmony Farm Kennel Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Harmony Farm Kennel located?
Harmony Farm Kennel is located at Monte Lake, approximately 35 minutes southeast of downtown Kamloops. The kennel is accessible year-round.
What is Harmony Farm Kennel’s mission statement?
Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy, happy, and peaceful country environment for all dogs, with individual care, attention, and exercise, so owners can be away worry-free.
What is the nightly rate?
The nightly rate is $50 per night per dog, including tax.
Additional dogs sharing the same kennel are $40 per night per dog, including tax.
What are the check-in hours?
Kennel hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm year-round. Flexible drop-off times are available with a pre-arranged ETA.
What are the check-out hours?
Flexible pre-arranged pick-up times are available between 9:00am and 5:00pm. If pick-up is after 3:00pm, you will be charged for that night.
Pick-up after 5:00pm is available until 10:00pm with a $20 charge.
What should I bring with my dog?
Please bring your dog’s regular bed, regular food, treats, toys, and most importantly, something that smells like you for added creature comforts.
Will you feed my dog a special, raw, or custom diet?
Yes. Whatever you feed your dog at home will be continued here at the kennel.
Will you give medications, and is there a charge?
Yes. I am happy to give your dog whatever medication you indicate.
If vaccines are required, or if medication must be given more than twice daily, there is a $5 daily charge.
Does my dog have to be vaccinated?
Vaccines are recommended but not mandatory, as Harmony Farm Kennel is a custom care kennel.
Will my dog be put together with other dogs?
Harmony Farm Kennel is a custom care kennel, meaning it is not a dog park-style kennel.
Unless your dogs come in as a family, no dogs are ever kenneled together. Dogs do not interact with other dogs here and are not exercised with another dog.
Will my dog have a play yard?
Yes. Each dog kenneled has a dog door adjoining their own private, covered, and tree-shaded play yard.
Will my dog be exercised?
Yes. All dogs are walked individually every day, or however is suitable for each dog’s physical, mental, and emotional needs.
Will my dog have access to fresh clean water daily?
Yes. Fresh clean water is kept with all dogs 24/7.
Do you accept all breeds?
Yes. Harmony Farm Kennel welcomes and cares for all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments of dogs, including aggressive, protective, guarding, anxious, very young, very small, very old, or very large dogs of all breeds.
Can I come for a pre-visit to check out your facility?
Absolutely. I highly recommend coming with your dog for a short pre-meet and greet visit. This gives your dog an opportunity to sense the location and get acquainted with the smells, sights, sounds, and energy of myself and Harmony Farm.
The suggested timing of a pre-visit is two weeks before your dog’s first kennel stay. Pre-visits must be arranged in advance.
