Even Normal Dogs Are Welcome!
Even 'normal' dogs are welcome to our custom care dog boarding at Harmony Farm Kennel And Lamb, located close to Kamloops, BC.
“Do You Board 'Normal Dogs'? I see on your website you take all kinds of dogs; big dogs, little ones, puppies, bull breeds, problem dogs, puppies, dominant breeds, show and sport dogs... but Patricia do you take 'normal' dogs?” "I'm not sure I want MY dog any where there are all kinds of misbehaving, out of control bad dogs staying in the place." the man states.
What is 'normal'?”, I ask. “Gerry and I look at each dog as a unique dog. We don't judge them and we love the variety of who ever each dog is, whatever 'normal' is for each dog." I explain. "What is normal for your dog?" I inquire. “Well MY dog is 'normal'”, he says, as he proceeds to describe his 'normal dog'.
In amazement, I quietly listen to the man describe what he adamantly describes as his 'normal' dog, my grin getting wider and wider as I bite my tongue's response.
“Okay, so let me get this right... your 'normal' dog jumps up at you sometimes even though you don't like it; leads like a quote, 'barge' because he hasn't had much walking time and you just can't be bothered to deal with it; he would rather you didn't touch his paws and that right ear you spoke of gets a little touchy too, in which case we need to becareful that he doesn't snap at us putting his leash on; he barks non-stop when he needs more attention or, another treat and you usually just give him the treat; he sleeps on your bed because that is where you like him and besides, he destroys any kind of dog bed you give him; he prefers women because a man wearing a baseball cap scolded him loudly once; he scratches the door when left alone, so you can rarely leave him unattended; he really doesn't like to play with other dogs, because you didn't take the time when he was young and maybe, he just gets a little rough and...he usually goes off eating for a week whenever he is without you? This is your 'normal' dog?” I ask.
There is a hesitation on the line. "I see where you're going with this", he chuckles, “Oh...well... That is my guy! He really is a great dog!! You'll just love him!!” he replies with pride. “Good to know”, I snicker, “Oh, and for the record, we think ALL dogs are great dogs, and sure, we'd love to accommodate your 'normal' dog, anytime at Harmony Farm Kennel!”
